Our Model

I’ve been writing about the values of House of the Transfiguration, today I want to take a step back and give you an overall sense of the model we’ll be using.

Our model looks at the life of faith as something that is organic and growing. Believing that we need both a core of personal faith and a communal life this is what we’re going to try and do. Pictured here is a visual representation of our model (you can click on it to see it larger):

Our roots will be fueled by a life of contemplation: a daily spiritual practice that will look different for everyone. That fuel will lead into what House of the Transfiguration will offer: a weekly gathering which will be a Mass, a skill share which is our education component, cells which are house groups, and then the guerilla movement; a direct action campaign of service and/or protest in the community.

The fruit of a life of faith is action: as the book of James says, “faith without works is dead”, but it can also be exhausting and so that drives us back to our roots, the contemplative life.

Over the next several days I’ll be flesh out these components more fully so stay tuned!
